It's going to be tougher this year to hit 50 let alone 60 homeruns. Pitchers know him and they'll pitch around him or throw sinking stuff that he'll be on top of. If I had to gues I would say 45-50 tops.

Unless they go back in time to a few years ago I highly doubt Ryan Howard or anyone for that matter will hit 60 plus. 50 maybe. But 60?It can be done, yes. But highly unlikely. They would automatically be accused of steroids most likely.

IT is very difficult to answer this question because no one can predict the future. We also don't know if it was luck or skills.

If it was just a lucky season then he will probably hit 40-50 homers.

If it was skills he has a good chance of hitting the big 60. I would say about 30% chance of him getting it.

No. Personally I dont think anybody is ever going to hit over 60 home runs. He will however lead the league in homeruns with probably somewhere in the mid 50's.

If he stays healthy he's got a shot at 60 I hope he hits 74 to break Bond's single season record!

He'll hit at least 60, maybe even 70, IF he gets pitches to hit and that means some protection batting behind him. Burrell is not and will not be that protection. I hope he destroys that cheating Bond's so-called record.

I wouldn't say 60+

But definitely around 40-50, and possibly mid 50's.

But we also never know if he just got lucky last year. Luck is a very important part in life.

Not a chance. Last year was a great year, but I see it as that one special year. Pitcher's had never seen this guy. Now they will find his weaknesses and exploit them. He'll be lucky to hit 40+.

no that was just a fluke. he will do average and the phillies will fall back off and be 15 games out of the WILD CARD by seasons end. plus he has the jink of winning the homerun derby, so you know that cant be good

I consider it unlikely. Before '06, he'd never hit more than 38 in one year in either the majors or minors. I consider it more likely that his 58 HR last year were a bit of a fluke than the rest of his professional career.
