At last count there are 11 democrats, 15 republicans for a total of 26 candidates.

It doesn't matter until after the primaries. Because of our wonderful system that gives all the power to two political parties, all the candidates from the "elephants" and the "donkeys" will be running for their party's backing in 2008. Then there's the presidential election, between the two candidates with the most money behind them, while everyone else is deemed insignificant.

Two , Bush isnt running in '08 .We got the elephant nominie and the donkey nominie , thats it , all others are just hopeful wantobees .

bush can't run for president, you can only be pres for two terms and he's in his second. and the repubs can't nominate two people. if you count the guy who runs for the green party or whatever one nader runs for, then yeah there's three
