The talk doing the rounds is that the SACP / COSATU will break away and register as a political party, there is even talk that from within the party the younger members are planning to form a new party more inline with the needs of the people, a party catering for the muslim community will also spring up and have access to huge funding from middle east countries, is this the begining of real political turmoil in South Africa as never seen before. What next ????????????????

2014 Keeps coming up as a watershed year for the future of South Africa politically, it's starting to make sence because by then the ANC would have been the ruling party for 20 yrs and not delivering on it's promises.

I sure hope so - it will bring a better power balance than a situation where the ruling party has such a vast majority of votes that there's no pressure to be good at governing.
The African Muslim Party already exists and has formed a new coalition with the ANC in the Western Cape 3 weeks ago.

The ANC won't let that happen. They will make up more promises and stupidly the other parties will believe it and go back. The ANC knows that that is the only way that they will be able to win.

I see a problem in that you are applying Western thinking to an African problem. The only split I see is along tribal lines. Politically they are inter dependant on each other and for as long as the ANC looks after them financially they will continue to bicker in Public. However, the SACP was initially a tool for the Russians to establish a presence in South Africa. With the Russians talking of investment and China re-colonising Africa there could be a battle outside of South Africa. The question therefore arises if the West will allow South Africa to capitulate into Communism. The radical Islamists are probably a much bigger threat than anyone realises. The rumour mill also talks about the difficulty Al-Quaeda are now having in establishing a threat in the US,UK and other 1st World Countries due to the anti terror actions. Africa is a ripe playing field due to the constant instability and corruption. There is untold mineral wealth and the likes of South Africa have a nuclear capability. Add to that the general anti US feeling in Africa and now the establishment of Al Quaeda operatives in South Africa then the warning signs are there. Africa's corrupt and naieve despots are there to be exploited but one thing for sure is you will never again see a White Government in South Africa and the ethnic cleansing will continue. Brad is correct in that Civil War is the best thing that can happen in South Africa but only as long as the Afrikaaner remains and joins forces with other anti Communist groups.Maybe the Zulus who have a justifiable natural hatred of Xhosa's and are a fighting Nation hold the key.
