Hormones of pregnancy cause you to be an emotional roller coaster. And for many women, the thought of gaining all that weight makes them feel less sexy (sometimes on a subconscous level). Just explain to him that your body is going through a lot right now, he should be understanding.

Completely normal!! I used to have dreams about fighting with my husband while I was pregnant and I would go days without speaking to him afterward. It's mostly hormones, but I think in part it's feeling less sexy and also feeling like as much as they are there for you, you're going through being pregnant alone. I'd give him a gentle disclaimer, that's what I did. I let my hubby know that I was hormonal and really iritable and not to take it personally ahead of time, that way I didn't hurt his feelings when I went off or didn't want to be intimate. Things did get better during the second trimester, but the third was really hard too.

Yes, it is VERY normal. i could not stand the sight of my significant other during pregnancy...i could not even stand the way he smelled! i imagine it has something to do with the monstrous amount of hormones you have raging at this time. If you are not very far along, i would bet on it. All i can suggest is that you try to explain this to your partner without offending him...maybe show him this answer page. It DOES get better! Sometime during my second trimester i felt very sexual (with both kids) even though i was getting fatter! My man did not seem to mind the tummy. ;) Hang in there, mom! And congrats! Best wishes!

Like others said, it goes back to hormones. I thought you might appreciate hearing it from a male as well. My wife didn't go through that, but it is not unusual. Now is the time for him to be patient. Now is the time for you to learn to concentrate very hard on the facts as opposed to the feelings. It is not a cure, but it will help a tiny bit. Note, it only helps a very tiny bit.
Good luck!

Yes, it's normal. He's a guy. How any of you attractive, soft, good smelling, tender, gentle and kind women allow rough, smelly, gross, oafs like us guys into your homes or beds is beyond me.
Your sex must be gifted with kindness for us dorks who fart, burp, grunt, drip, snort, and generally act appalling in public.
Bless all of you who put up with men, I'd be a lesbian in a nanosecond. I just may be one trapped in a man's body, I dunno.
Best wishes and blessing on a healthy child, easy labor, and happy home.

Yes, it is. I've been like that the whole time (23 weeks along) and he doesn't understand. I just tell him it's hormones and it will get better after the baby is born.

i was there. at one point i almost left him. i think its just one of those things that has to do with the hormones.
its normal... wait it out and things will look up. spend some time with your partner doing something you both like to do. it could totally help. it did with us. we took walks together. it helps with the pregnancy and it helped us get closer.
