The standard easy conversion to remember is

2.54 centimeters = 1.0 inche

Since you need the length of the whale in mm convert the above to millimieters.

1.0 centimeter = 10 millimeters
so
2.54 centemetes = 25.4 millimeters

now you have

25.4 millimeters = 1.0 inches

but your whale is measured in feet so convert your inches to feet.

Multiple both sides by 12 since there are 12 inches in one foot.

25.4 x 12 millimeters = 1 inches X 12

304 millimeter = 1 foot

so 100 foot whale = 304 millimeters x 100 = 30400 mm
