almost any commerical fertilizer will work the most important thing for color and growth is iron and nitrogen in the blend. Also be sure and check your sprinkler system to be sure that the yellow patches don't coincide with where your sprinkler heads are. Sometimes poor pattern will allow for pooling of water at the heads which will choke the grass in those spots simply because the grass can't breathe from to much water. Good luck.

Maybe a light brodcast of lime right now and then a fertilizer with a little higher phopsras & nitrogen content and you should be good to go till spring.

You might have annual grass mixed in with perrenial gress. You may not be getting proper water to yellow area. You might try spreading grass seed and a light covering of steer manure.

Assuming the lawn has had plenty of light (lack of light will make it yellow) it will need a dose of superphosphate!!
