I've been hypnotized once(in a psychology class in college)...

I can't explain it all but I can tell you a few things.

It's like a second state where I felt light and a bit disconnected. But it ain't like in those movies where folks are controlled while hypnotized. I can remember everything that happened and I could do what I wanted. If the teacher asked me something I did not want to do I would not do it. For instance the teacher asked us to forget the number 4 and then asked us to count to 5. Some counted normally, some missed the number 4 and seemed troubled when they arrived at five counting on their fingers because one was still left. I on the other side didn't want to forget the number 4 so when I counted it went like that: 4-4-4-4-4. All I could think about was the number 4.

There is probably more to the subject but it's all I know about it...

Nothing. There's no such thing as being hypnotized. Your brain cannot be told what to do by another person's words. Maybe if a doctor used some sort of machine, then yes. But, other than that hypnotism is just made up.
Sorry.

Someone or something guides you into an altered state of consciousness and helps you to see things that your brain won't allow you to see in the regular state of consciousness.
