I am pro-union. Management does not usually have my best interests in mind when it comes to labor issues. Management's main concern is profits for the stock holders. My financial well-being and safety often are not considered.

I believe that working men should be able to join together to pursue common interests, so long as they are not violating the rights of others. If they want to attempt to bargain collectively, that should be their right.
I don't believe that unions should get any special treatment from the government, nor face any special penalties.
Personally, I don't think I would like being in a union. While they do provide security to most workers, I think they can be an obstacle to workers with a lot of ambition. Some unions strategies can be counterproductive, such as fighting management so hard that the business nearly collapses and everyone loses their job as a result.

Depends on the Union.
Most Production / manufacturing Union is good.. gets the Employees better benefits and a fair wage
Others just provide a way to protect, well lets just say less than perfect, so called professionals. That shouldnt be in a professional field.

They are interfere with free markets.
They demand wages and benefits or they will strike.
Unions have destroyed the auto industry. Car makers gave away pensions that they knew they could not afford just to keep the unions from striking.

They started out really good as they helped the worker
get decent wages for their labors. Now-a-days, they've
outlived their usefulness. Most factory workers now make
great money, but many of them are beginning to shut down
(General Electric, Ford, Westinghouse, Otis) and the Unions
can't seem to do diddly-squat about it. So, what's their
purpose if they can't keep jobs alive for the workers?

Pro-union. It's the only way a working man can get close to a fair shake for his work. CEOs make almost 500 times what the average blue collar working stiff makes. How is that fair?

While I belong to a union, I don't agree with most of what they believe, esp. what candidates they back in elections.
