If there's no medical reason (like the baby being breech) to have a c-section, I'd stick with a vaginal delivery with an epidural. I've had two vaginal deliveries and two c-sections and have to honestly say that recovery from the surgery is much worse and takes much longer. I couldn't sit up without help and I couldn't pick up the baby by myself, either. You also can't drive for at least 2 or 3 weeks with a c-section and the staples and scar aren't exactly pretty. Not to mention that the surgery itself can be quite unpleasant and you'll be in recovery for at least an hour without your baby. Not the best for bonding right away. I didn't have a choice with my sections, but I definitely wouldn't recommend having one simply because you are afraid of the pain of labor. You're still going to be in pain, it's just a different kind. Labor is tough, but when they hand you your baby, it's so worth every minute! Good luck with everything!

I had my 1st baby at the age of 31 and did not have a c-section but had a vaginal delivery....22 months ago and I remember everything. I hope I do not scare you.......I did not have an epidural but had pethidine and gas(alot of gas). The worst pain is when the baby is crowning and everyone is telling you how close you are and to keep pushing! It feels like millions of bees are stinging you or someone is slashing at your vagina! It is the worst possible pain you can imagine. But once you are holding your precious baby...yes YOUR baby,it is all worth it..... no, u don't forget about that pain u just went thru, but it makes it all worth it! I swore I was NEVER going to have another baby, but 4 months after giving birth, still remembering the pain, I was excited about having another! So, for the past 5 months, my hubby and I have been trying. We will continue trying and hope one day, our daughter will have a baby brother or sister to grow up with!
My sister had C's with all 3 of her children. She did have pain afterwards, but didn't complain about it too much! My friend had 2 vaginal births and the last was a c section and said she would NEVER have a c section again. She was in a great deal of pain and still has a tender tummy.....15 months later!!
Good luck with your decision, it will all be fine childbirth is such a natural thing and try not to worry about complications............and congratulations!!!

Obviously a vaginal delivery would be first choice. However, if you do have to have a c-section, you will do fine. I had two c-sections several years and recovered just fine afterwards. Back then, I was not awake. I was sore, but it was not as bad as I thought it would be. My daughter just delivered her son by c-section 4 months ago. She had an epidural and was awake through the delivery. She also held her son as soon a she went to recovery and was breastfeeding. She was up and about the next day walking and said she would definately not be afraid to have another one. The worst part for her was she became very constipated which is not so unusual after surgery. She said she would ask for stool softeners as soon as possible. You will do fine either way and when you hold your baby, you will see it is worth it. Good Luck.

I have had now six babies... five induced and epidurals.... last one? I had stadol and something else... but it wore off way before the seven cent. mark... from there? it was a short five, ten minutes and I was holding the baby... my point? I am a wuss! I HATE pain.. can not stand to have it, be in it! but I did it... and it really is not as bad as I had built it up to be..... the worst part is controlling any fear... the pain is managable... especially with epidural.. then there is no fear.. no pain... lol....
the c-section, from what I am told by friends/family who have had to have them? tell me that the pain is worse.... as the stomach, uterus shrinks back it is crampier... as you move arond it hurts more (the stitches) I think you probably do not need to worry.... obgyn has changed a lot in twelve years... you might be surprised at some of the things changed.. :)
I am, by the way.. 37... I have six children 15, 10, 8, 4, 3, 1 :) you'll do great! good luck!

I had a vaginal delivery with my daughter and no epidural. It hurt like hell, but was worth it. My mind has blanked out the worst of it, and we're having our son in a few weeks. I didn't want an epidural, as I don't really like the idea of something going into my spinal cord, and c-section leaves you with a scar. Small scar, but I like to avoid general anesthesia and surgery whenever I can. My doctor used forceps to help my daughter out, and she's just fine. Most doctors don't like to do c-sections unless you're high risk.

C sections do not bypass away enormous scars, they bypass away a small bikini line scar, organic start isn't a astounding journey for each guy or woman and a few females tear badly, have epistomies or purely desire stitches and a few of those females take an prolonged time to heal or are left with scar tissue that's painful. I actual have had 6 little ones certainly alongside with twins and labour is anguish, you do not continually heal right now or maybe nonetheless you supply start it takes time,i've got confidence in a woman's right to flow with and that they supply you a spinal block for many c sections that's fairly diverse and lots extra desirable than epidural, they not often fail. I had 3 epidural's in childbirth and a spinal to have pre maximum cancers cells bumped off,the epi's have been stable yet with the spinal i became into plenty extra numb.

Well I had a vaginal and pain meds so I didn't fell much, but after I got home it was a breeze I had no problems at all just a little burning that's it and I was all healed up in about 2 weeks. Everyone I have talked to says that a c - section is no problem why your having it, but when you get home the recovery is horrible. good luck and congrads

MY OPINION IF YOU CAN GO VAGINAL GO VAGINAL, YOU DONT WANT TO DEAL WITH THE PAIN AND THE SCARES AFTERWARDS... IT DONT TAKE LONG FOR VAGINAL TO HEAL..... YOU WILL FORGET ABOUT THE PAIN ONCE YOU SEE YOUR CHILD IT IS A TRUE BLESSING, IT IS WHAT WE ARE MEANT TO DO...
GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS

Normal pleasure is in normal delivery without any medication.(normal physiology) If you don't feel the labor pain then there is no affection to your kids
