It could be "monitor", "mentor" or "maneater".

A monitor is someone or something that watches, checks or controls something continuously. It could also be a pupil assisting a teacher, a TV set in a studio used for checking a program or a large carnivorous lizard. A Komodo dragon is a monitor

Mentor was the tutor and guardian of Telemachus, the son of Odysseus. The name has been extended to mean someone who provides guidance to an inexperienced person.

A maneater is an animal that eats people.

I googled "manitor" for ya and in every case, even in Spanish and Romanian, it was a misspelling of the word "monitor". In its capitalized form I found it was someone's user name in a discussion forum. It's also a computer system monitoring program available through a German website, and dude... it's a free download. Documentation might be hard to read though.
