Jack London's Call of The Wild.... Yes! A wonderful book of personal discovery. The movie is loosly based on the book. The movie isn't bad, but the book is sooo much better. Read it... its something that will stay with you through the rest of your life.

It's been a while and I hated the book so I didn't pay much attention but Between the 1972 version and the book: The main difference is a lot of the blood and guts were replaced with inferences and a story where he gets the stuffing beat out of him(in the book) is replaced with a threat of being shot (in the movie)

But honestly, don't you think you could read the book and watch the movie and answer it yourself?
