I'm thinking about asking my girlfriend to give blood, but I know she doesn't like needles so I was wondering if she could maybe donate some of her tampons...maybe if they had a drop off box or something? I am thinking maybe they could use this for the animals at the zoo if nothing else. I figure this could be a stepping stone for her.

Lol, no the red Cross does not take menstrual blood.
most of the "blood" from the menstrual cycle is actually a small amount of blood mixed with mucous. Its not pure and would not be of a donation-able quality

I'm laughing so hard, I'm crying. That is very sweet to worry about your gf not liking needles. I don't think the Red Cross would take her menstrual blood, and honestly, the thought of it going into my veins makes me green. LOL ~~~~

Well since you seem to want to ask about this I will get graphic. No you can not give menstrual blood to the red cross. Menstrual blood is old blood and is sometimes clotted so no they cant take it!
