Ok, here's the thing. I believe they tell you to wait 3 months because of the emotional toll that having a miscarriage does to a woman. I lost my first baby when I was 7 weeks along on Dec 5th, 2001. I was pregnant again by the end of the month and carried her full term (and then some).
As you can tell, I did not follow the "rule" of waiting. It's up to each person. I am sorry for your loss, I know how you feel. Good luck to you!

Every doctor is different..... Most recommend waiting three months before trying again, others say wait at least one cycle... As far as sex, you need to wait 2-3 weeks (I always go for the latter.)
When I had my miscarriage, my dr said to wait just one cycle before trying again. It depends on your personal situation. If you had to have a D&C, you need to wait a little longer than one cycle to make sure your cervix to completely healed and ready to hold a baby in. . . . I had a natural miscarriage so I only had to wait one month. I got pregnant right away and I'm 11 weeks 5 days pregnant. So far things are going well. I wish you the best of luck. The biggest thing is to make sure you are ready to start trying again. My dr also told me you are the most fertile 3 months after a miscarriage.
As far as sex goes, the only reason the tell you to wait is to make sure your cervix is completely closed to prevent an infection. If the cervix is open a little and you get a uterine infection, it can remain undetected until your next pregnancy and it can cause another loss. So I waited until about 2 and a half weeks before we had sex again.
I wish you the best of luck in getting pregnant again.

I am so sorry. It's a loss that so many people don't understand. I had my first m/c 3 months ago, and I had another one last week and I'm still a complete wreck. I have been told different things about when to start trying to get pregnant. I've heard anywhere from 1 month to 1 year. And many people say they have had successful pregnancies immediately after miscarriage. As far as having sex after miscarriage, I've heard to wait until you've stopped bleeding to avoid any infection but I really don't know. I waited until I stopped bleeding. My poor husband....it was a whole month. :)
Good luck to you. I hope it works out next time.

Ok I had a miscarriage 2 yrs ago and 4 months later I was pregnant again and now I have a 11 month old son miscarriages
happen its' not your fault but you have to wait at least 2 months for your body to recooperate, its; just like having a baby full term
your boby needs to rest, it get back on track I misscarriged at 5 1/2 weeks, I was barely 1 month. you can have sex just be careful.because you having sex too early with out protection you could lose the other baby too having sex too close to the last
pregnancy.

I had a miscarriage about 4 weeks ago. My doctor said to me that as mine was complete. I needed to wait till blood and pain stoped completly before having sex as their is a risk of infection. As for trying again he said wait one period before trying again. Although he did say that was more to with being able to date it. You do need to give your body time to heal. The longer you leave it the better your chance. (my doc told me during the first few weeks after thheir is a high chance of infection and miscarriage). Their are people who go on and be fine though. Try when you feel up to it.
The first 3 cycles after miscarriage your more fertile, because your body is ready for a baby. Also their is no more chance of another miscarriage than before if this was your first.
i wish you lots of luck.

You can start having sex about 3-4 weeks after an operative miscarriage. and I'd advise waiting about 2-3 cycles before you start trying to get pregnant.

The best answer is to check with your doctor. When I had a miscarriage they recommended no intercourse until I had a regular menstrual cycle and 2-3 cycles before trying to get pregnant again. I'm so sorry for your loss.

It really depends upon why you had the miscarriage, how far along you were, how much your body needs to heal, and if you are emotionally ready to start trying again. Your Dr. will be the best person to tell you when you will physically be ready. Here's an article from the Mayo Clinic, they have an excellent web-site about pregnancy. Sorry for your loss.

I would get checked out with the doctor to make sure the miscarriage was complete and that you won't have any complications.. so I would make an appointment and then go about your business to be on the safe side.

I would wait for 6 weeks to have sex again. The doctor usually recommends 6 months before trying to get pregnant again. That way it has time to build your uterusand cervix up again.good luck!
