Obviously I'm not going to want to stay around these people, but I usually respect them. Do people just stare at you or look at you at the corner of their eye when you pass by them just because they think it's funny or cool?

Maybe you are giving that kind of VIBE. Try smiling for a change. A smile can open the door for you. People respond to a happy person better than a dead-pan face. I no I sure do. Give that a try. Just think pleasent thoughts, and your face will respond.

People stare and give me dirty looks ALL the time... but that's because I am Muslim...
I'm actually used to the stares now... Sometimes I stare back ... kinda like a Stare-off...Sometimes I pose for them.. kinda like saying take a picture it lasts longer.. or sometimes if I am in a crowded place and everyone is staring at me and my friends.. I like to point it out by loudly saying to my friends: "Why is everyone staring at us?" We kinda have a laugh about it later on...
But yeah.. totally used to it now.. however.. to be fair.. not all the stares are dirty.. I do get a lot of polite stares, where people are almost saying to me.. "I respect you... please don't kill me"... lol.. they're usually JUST "I respect you.." without the last bit..
But who really knows?
My advice is just get used to it.. people stare.. they can't help but stare.. You could take it as a compliment to ease your mind... but then that would make your head super huge... but i guess its better than being paranoid...
Smile politely, acknowleding their stares and turn away.. if they continue just challenge them to a stare off... i guarantee you they will turn away and never stare at another person again!

I just think people are as friendly these days. I smile at everyone, but I don't get the same in return. Brush it off. Stay respectful. It pays in the end.

I think they just don't get you. They might feel like your a good person, until you say something they don't agree with then they say something that annoys you, then you dred running into them again. I understand, have the same problem.

I dont do it, unless they have something standing out. For example a t-shirt that says something, or a new gadget that I think looks cool.

I don't look at them unless they have a hairstyle or something that really sticks out, but then I don't stare at them.
