I mean crystal meth and things like that... It seems quite prevalent in many cities.. Just wonder why..

So are most people on drugs, i.e. meth because they didn't know it's a bad drug in the beginning and have never been taught and told about that? If they had known that in the beginning, they would have been able to stay away from them?

Nobody wants the government to have the power and the money so we as a country move it to the brave that break the law, and have a good time doing it.

I have never done crack or heroin, because the reputation of those drugs preceded them, and I knew how bad they were. But when meth first came around, I didn't know- nobody knew- how bad it was (that was almost 20 years ago.) By the time I realized it wasn't just a harmless speed buzz, I was addicted. I guess I did it because I was tryng to medicate myself. I felt so bad about myself I just wanted to find a way to feel better, and for a long time meth did that for me. After I had been on it pretty heavy for awhile, and it started causing me problems, then it wasn't so good any more, but I couldn't give it up. Now, thankfully, it is pretty much gone from my area due to the regulation of the sale of ingredients used to make it, so I have been off of it for a couple of years. But what authorities did not plan on was now, many of the old meth-heads are abusing other drugs- like morphine, Vicodin, and Methadone- which are prescription drugs being sold on the street for big money. How are they going to stop that? As long as people feel bad about themselves and aren't equipped to handle the stresses that life throws at them, there will be drug and alcohol abuse.

Have you ever had to fight an addiction, if you haven't you probably won't be able to come close to understanding why there is a drug problem.
yet here goes nothing- First you have to understand that no one starts their downward spiral by thinking "I'm going to become an addict today"
It is such a slow process that you don't even know its happening because each time you use its fun right up to the point when its not. and then its too late.
You suddenly find that you no longer are using to get high you are using to feel normal.
thats the addiction.
You have never experienced anything as powerful as your chemical imbalanced brain telling you to go score to take the pain away.
well I have
My addiction of choice was meth. all the time i've struggled to get back to the point I was at before my using began. has put my life about 15 years behind what it should be at this point.
what a waste of time using was.

escape reality and turmoil in the world. They probably think that it won't hurt them or they can be it, or they don't care. Sometime pressures of life... can be so overwhelming that they just say "f" it if you will "I need to get away". You know that we Americans work the longest hours and are so driven to achieve that it can send you over the edge?? And this society says that if you don't live a certain life-style you are a failure? Just look at the ads and commercials esp. here in So. CA. It is SAD.

" drugs " have been used by every significant culture known to man. So its really a human thing not an U.S. thing.

Were you on drugs when you asked this or are you that uneducated?

So to keep the folks from other countries gainfully employed. Drugs travel to get here. With the exception of pot. Agriculture seems to flourish here. Maybe if our tax dollars were spent on us, instead of other countries.. huh???

I guess they are so disillusioned with reality that they would prefer a drug induced stupor. The American Dream has been shipped abroad by our politicians.

Cause none here likes to deal with their problems so they do dumb things to forget about them in the process of completely ruining their lives.

They do not want to face responsibility for themselves or their actions.

And they are taught it is an "escape" from responsibility.
