well, i think maybe i could help you a bit on the decision making based on my experience. I graduated from an community college and now i'm aiming to get a degree in university. Let me tell you this, a diploma from college is just a piece of garbage!! It guarantees you nothing to succeed in the workforce unless you are super smart and very well-experienced in the field you study, otherwise, forget about it!

I may sound too subjective on this matter, but this is always true. The education you'd get in an community college is very practical (not academic). Let's take the engineering program for example. In community college, all you learn will be to assembly the circuit, set up or to program the machine. All are hands-on experiences. You'll be trained to be a technican. You'll learn all the practical exercises but with only a little bit understanding of the theory/concepts. However, usually the equipements the school offers are relatively old. So once you get into the real world, you'd be stuck at the new technology and you'd find yourself to become lost to handle the job well.

On the other hand, though the universities don't offer as much as hands-on experiences as colleges, but you will be trained to be a designer with strong background of the concepts and stuffs. You could design a better device ahead of other competitors and be able to direct the trend of the technology to go. You are the boss, whereas a technican only knows how to work with the devices. That's the major difference of the education they offer. Universities teach you how to think, colleges teach you how to work on it.

You won't be regretful if you make up your mind to go to university for a higher education. It's still worthy even you'd have big time struggling with the homeworks. A good grade with over 80% from college is nothing better than a 60% from university. It's what the level of the edcuation that matters, not the grade.

If you're in the US, a university is just the same as a college except bigger, with more than one college in it (Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Fine Arts, etc.). If you're asking whether to go to a community college or a 4-year college/university, then I'd say talk to your teachers and school counselor. You can always transfer from a 2-year community college to a 4-year college, and community colleges are a lot cheaper. You may not receive the same level of education, though. It just depends.

I wouldn't set myself up for a really difficult time, but don't underestimate your abilities, either. Good luck!

I'm afraid that the definition of "university" vs. "college" is a matter of some dispute. In the US, you have to look a bit closer at the sort of school it is: trade school, two-year college, four-year college, or what. A university may, for example, offer two-year degrees in some subjects. And a college may be attached to a great university like Harvard.

Part of this also has to do with where you live. In matters like this, it's always a good idea to give your home country.

you need to be careful right here. some Universities would no longer settle for the move credit. the specialists: college is more inexpensive. you'll get a collection of the get entry to point classes out of ways and could no longer damage your preparation. The cons: you may ought to understand the move coverage of the college. when I did this I lost my Grades, they merely transferred as "T" . The college truly stated the artwork become no longer as a lot as their aspect. After doing it I agreed. The college classes were a lot harder than the junior college classes. contained sooner or later i become comfortable with one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days of Junior college and then college as a contented stability. strong success.
