I was just in St. George, Utah, in southern Utah, about 1.5-2 hours from Las Vegas near Zion and Bryce canyons. It's a beautiful area with lots of things to do outdoors and great spas.

Las Vegas if you want/need access to an international airport and enjoy the amenities and services of a larger city. Reno is a dirty little town and has many issues with weather that Las Vegas does not.

Also, people don't realize that Las Vegas is only 3 hours from Zion National Park and 4 hours from Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, 4 hours from the Grand Canyon and 30 min. from Red Rock State Park (near where I grew up over there). It's an outdoorspersons dream. Beautiful sunsets over the nearby mountains, colorful desert scenery just minutes outside of town....I could go on and on.

OH, and NV doesn't have state income tax!! Yipee!
