My son has had this kind of trouble all his life due to allergies. He's almost four now. My pediatrician told me to put a humidifier in his room, and to keep his head elevated while he's sleeping. When he was a baby I would put a pillow under his crib mattress to elevate one end. His head would stay elevated, and it wouldn't bother him. Also, Johnson and Johnson makes a Vapor Bath to bathe him in, and a Vapor Cream that you can rub on his chest.

I can truly empathize with you, and wish you all the best.

I just went through the same with my baby, and consulted the doc. I put a humidifier in the room, helps alot. Also could use the vicks vaporizer, both are good. You can also use the "snot sucker" is what I call it, don't know what the reall name is for it. You know, that thing that you can put in the baby's nose and pinch the little rubber ball at the end to suck out all the yucky stuff. That's about the only thing you can do, let nature take it's coarse. Good luck.

My four month old is sick right now.
I suck her nose, give her the nasal spray, wait a few min and then suck it again...
I rub infant vicks on her chest and under her nose.
I give her tylenol cold and cough.
I use a vick humidifier.
And i let her sleep in the bouncer because she is on and angle.

When you are sick and you lay down doens't it seem like you get more of stuffy clogged nose, well that is why i let her sleep on an angle in the bouncer because that way she can breath better.

And a warm steamy bath before bed.

I dont recommend putting any sort of pillow in bed with baby because they move, he is n't going to sleep all night in one position and stay on athe pillow. Even if it is under the sheet he can still slide down...I wouldn't risk it.

Saline nasal spray as you do already and a cool mist humidifier in the room at bedtime helps a lot. Just be sure to leave the door cracked. The one I use, is the one my mom uses. You can buy it on drugstore.com. It is the Vicks Ultrasonic Humidifier. (Model V5100N). OMG, they don't make them any better than this! And it is on sale right now for around $40. Congrats on the baby boy! :-)

Some nasal sprays can cause rebound congestion, so that could be a factor.

Using saline nose drops can clear out the stuffiness he has, and using a cold humidifier in his room may help.

Don't use nasal spray. He will get dependent on it. Only use it if absolutely necessary. Try a saline spray instead. They also have these sucky things (I forget the name of them, my son is 12 almost, been a long time) to help pull the snots out. Get a decongestant as well. You're probably in for a very long night. Good luck with him, the poor little guy.

sometimes when the air is too dry (especially if you use a heater in the home), the boogers in your son's nose get dried and it's hard to clean. I suggest getting an air purifier, which also reduces the amount of germs in the room. The purifier will soften up your baby's boogers which will make it easier to clean with the nasal aspriator.

Try Vicks on his chest, neck, and back. Also try using a humidifier with Eucalyptus oil, it opens up the bronchial tubes. you can even give him a bath with Eucalyptus oil. If those don't work, i would take him to the doc. and get a nebulizer, perhaps that may help him breathe easier!

try using a humidifier when he sleeps at night, this should help. also try sucking out his nose with one of those nasal pumps. you can also use Vick's vapor rub, they have it for babies now, rub some on his chest before he goes to bed. i hope this helped some ... i hope your little one is feeling better soon!!!!
