Don't worry about it. You're just a freshman. You'll grow up a lot in the next 3 years. Trust me. If you're a junior and still afraid, then we can talk about more specific reasons as to why you're afraid and what to do then.
Just worry about getting as high grades as you can. Be active in other things too.

So what about college is frightening you?
Do you not know what you want to do? Lots of people don’t know what they want to do when they get to college, or even when they graduate. Lots of the people who seem to know what they want are just faking it, because their friends all act like they know what they want. Some are deceiving themselves. Or, they’re putting up a confident front to get mom and dad off of their backs. Lots more people major in one thing and then never work in a job related to the degree. The ones that go in knowing exactly what they want and how to get it are the exceptions to the rule. The people like you and me ARE the rule.
Is your fear about entering the unknown? When I was ready to go to college, I went blind. There was no one at home who could help me at all. My mother had an 8th grade education; she scrubbed toilets in the homes of some of my high school classmates. She couldn't help me with my home work, but she taught me that honest work is honorable, and she sacrificed so I could go farther in life. My father had a 10th grade education (but that didn't matter since he wasn't around). They gave me all that they could, but they could not give me what they did not have.
Today, age 42 and the youngest of five children, I'm the first (of two so far) who have earned bachelor's degrees. I'm the first and only to have a master's degree.
I'm here to tell you that if I can do it, you can, too. You're on the right path - keep going the direction that you are going.

The first couple of years of college are not really much different from High School. The following years are when you really get to delve into your major. If you are not studying something you love, you have the wrong major. The opportunity to study and discuss something you love is not something to fear. It's something to look forward to.

college look for unique resumes and while your grades are important, they also look for students with a broad view of talent. Get into the community and start helping out because this shows dedication too!

keep your grades up. The most important thing you can do is to volunteer around your town. Colleges look at your community service and leadership experiences just as much as they look at grades.
