you can do that easy with adobe photoshop and after effects these are my favorite programs for gif animations but there are alot of programs out there... with some of these programs you may make a image like this pretty easy if you know the steps of how the program works. just do a yahoo search on "how to make a gif image with photoshop".

Well this animation that you have seen, it is a simple one, but i know you are having hard time finding how to. Well first of all you will need a GIF(Grafic Interchange Format) Animation Software.
Adobe ImageReady is a proffessional tool which you get on installing Adobe Photoshop and you can do such effects and animation in it which is cool, if you are looking for a free software then, check out the follwoing link which will take you to a software called Beneton Movie GIF, which is free, download and give it a try, use the Help of the product to learn how to get along with it.

Now how you would create an effect like the one you had shown. Well :
1) you have to create the text.
2) you will then give a glow to the text
3) then you have to animate it to come from a glowless text to text with glow, this is specific to each software on how you do it, so you have to find out once you get the software. If you specify which software you want to do it, i may be able to simulate the effect and tell you step by step.

Hope you find out how to do it and create such exciting animations. All the Best!!

There are a number of programs that will create animations. One of the most popular is Flash. Using layers, the glow effect is done by copying the black text (on the top layer) as a bitmap to another layer, changing the color to a glowing color, and then expanding and softening the fill edges. You then repeat the glow creating process in subsequent frames, each time making glow a little bigger. When done, set the movie to loop back to the first frame. You can export the finished Flash movie as an animated GIF.

I do not think yo ucan do it on a web site.
Who ever made it saved several pictures, each time with the glow at a more intese level, then they asembled it using a
Photo software.

I suggest Photoshop CS2 or GIMP(free), but Macromedia Flash is probably the easiest. You can download a free trail of Photoshop or Flash at--- www.adobe.com
