I'm in high school, sophomore year and I know I need to start working harder If I want to go to my dream college.
I'm a good student, smartest in most of my classes and before now I've gotten mostly A's by doing the work 5 minutes before it was due. I'm taking Honors classes, and will be taking AP next year.
I know I should and need to do my homework but for some reason I just don't ever do it. I already know how important it is and why I should do homework, I really need to know some tips to get motovated please and thank you.

Why don't you get some one else to help? It often works best if you set aside half a hour to a hour per day, and tell some one else you are going to be studying then. That way even if you lose interest, some one still reminds you to get your homework done.

I had the same problems in school. I finally started doing better in college. I would do two things. First I would review my notes as soon as I got home to keep new information in my mind. I also would rewrite my notes at this time. This would help me make the information clearer in my mind. I could also see what questions I had about it and I'd write down the questions I had.
Secondly I'd do my assignments in short sessions. For example I'd read for 30 minutes, take a 10 minute break then do another assigment (like writing etc...). By breaking my studying and homework up I didn't get too tried or distracted. I never studied or did homework for later then 8pm. It's no use when you're tried prep for the next day then get a good night's sleep. It's all about time managment. Of course you have to say no to social things when you have work to do. It's tough (I know) but you will be so happy when get your grades.

a million. stop whining lots and talk over with somebody. talking to somebody in guy or woman incredibly does help. as quickly as you get into it, the words merely initiate flowing out. 2. Get a prepare in those subjects which you're doing undesirable in. it incredibly is assisting me in Algebra 2 a great deal. 3. supply up skipping college. reducing instructions that instruct a lesson each and daily is between the justifications why you're doing so terrible in college. have you ever seen that? the college 3 hundred and sixty 5 days won't pass by any quicker, no count what you do, so merely get on with it and attempt your toughest. it incredibly is the only thank you to get in the path of something of the three hundred and sixty 5 days. i'm not probable beneficial what else to make it easier to be conscious of.

I can relate! I'm no longer in school but I always hated doing homework -- yet I always got top grades.

Your teachers no doubt know you are bright. Why not ask if you can do only the most advanced questions instead of the whole assignments?

I don't see a problem with doing your homework 5 minutes before class, though. If you get the same result, what difference does it make if you did it the night before?

It is true that you only have a handful of chances in life - whatever is motivating you not to work hard at what you are doing - you will find will come second to your own life. At the very worst a person either has to work hard or be homeless. Too bad a person isn't allowed to work out their problems and than are given another chance to do something good. Try to do your work and work out your problems at the same time.

You’re never going to be succesful if you “hate” doing homework in high school. College demands a lot more out of you than high school so if you want to suceed, why not get motivated by doing the work your given so that later on you can go to that dream college.

Well, think to yourself. Do you really want to get into the best college? That should motivate you to stay focused and do your work and try your best! I know that wasn't great help, but it's almost 9, and my brain has practically gone dead...I don't feel like thinking that much...Good luck though!

your motivation is your dream college. =) By the way, not to sound offensive or anything, but aren't you a little boastful or bragish about your grades? =]

If you do well now, you'll have an easier time in college because high school is prep for college (especially those honors courses). good luck in your work!

Make goals and reward youself for getting things done. I used to write my college papers by doing little goals...like after I write the first page I could play one game of freecell, and kept little rewards like that planned.
