You guys had great answers, and I appreciate it. But I went away for a week for Christmas, and unplugged everything. Came back, and booted up, and the colors are right again!!! Had tried the deguaus thing, etc, moved any magnetic possibilities, still no help. But a week with it off, and it is back to normal, EXCEPT I use "starfield" for my screensaver, which has a totally black background. It is now a brownish background.
Is my monitor still on its way to a dirt nap?

sounds like it is. best thing to prolong its life is to not use any scree saver but set the monitor to shut off after 10 or 15 minutes. a chip or cap is getting hot in it causing you to lose color quality..

Having considered the problem you are having with that monitor, and the possible answers you have received I would certainly change the monitor. However, I considered the refresh rate on the monitor could have been set too high. Also, the video card, if you are using an add-in card, can be faulty. I would first change the monitor and if the problem persist, change the video card.

Farewell.

you are able to have a Degauss selection interior the video exhibit gadgets OSD menu. attempt hitting that some situations. despite if, you will could desire to attend approximately 20 minutes between cycles for the degauss circuit to reset actual. If that isn't having an result then take the computer screen to a television restoration shop and that they are going to be waiting to apply a miles extra useful degauss wand or ring on it. it is going to take approximately 30 seconds to restoration. i might strongly propose against strapping magnets to a drill. that looks like a sturdy thank you to get a magnet embedded interior the wall, or maybe worse in you.
