is your fan operating at full speed please check this... is your fan made for that gpu? if so you may get a cheap blower for 5 dollars and put it in the pci slot right below your graphics card. if not you may have to replace the fan on the gpu to one that supports that model.

You can download ccleaner for free here: http://bit.ly/1Bk5V5C
First open CCleaner
Go to the Cleaner tab and you will be confronted by a very confusing lineup of checkboxes.
To make this brief, below is my recommended setup:
Under internet explorer check temporary internet files, cookies, and last download location. Most users don't really need this stuff. keep history and bookmarks unchecked, history is a maybe, but you don't want to lose bookmarked sites. You can normally leave Windows Explorer, System, and Advanced alone.
Run CCleaner and it will start deleting files.
afterward it will present you with a list of the files deleted, you really don't need to go through it as it will be several pages long.
The registry cleaner is recommended for slightly more advanced users. Use it after uninstalling programs as they will often leave behind incorrect registry entries.
If you decide to run Registry cleaner then review the items detected and always back up the registry (I keep a folder aside for this)
The Tools tab lets you uninstall programs and set startup programs. Why do you need this if Windows has all of these features? Especially with Vista Home Ed. The windows defender software explorer( startup programs) doesn't pick up some entries (however software explorer is easier to use).
Using CCleaner to uninstall programs and then check for leftover registry entries takes less time.
Under Options you can determine how CCleaner cleans your files. I leave this alone.

putting thermal paste directly on the card was a mistake...its engineered to distribute heat within the card evenly and with you putting the paste on it distributes the heat unevenly. The source of the problem was probably that you dont have enough fans in your computer. you can a buy pci slot fan that will cool the video card down significantly and are pretty cheap. You can buy them at most electronic stores (compusa, bestbuy, buy.com, ebay.com, newegg.com) Also try to lower the graphic settings on doom 3 to the lowest they can go. if you want to put them higher i would suggest buy a new video card.

It can not support the game. There is not enought memory and coreclock is not fast enough, time to upgrade sorry to tell you.
I guarentee this is the awnser because Doom 3 needs not a extreme car but a nvidia card atleast in the 7000 series to run Doom 3 sorry but yes it could be your cooling but system crahses come from freezing if you want see if its cooling take the side of your cas off leave it off and run the system this will allow aton of cool air in. Good Luck!

Yes your graphics card is going get overheated because your graphics card has a processor on it do you know what processor do they do a thousand things in one second a processor has beyond billions of switchers inside of.
It therefore so fast you cannot imagine.
playing doom 3 without a cool system for your graphics card how about a fan that works
