Did the rivalry between the French fur-company merchants and the English Hudson Bay company merchants benefit either the Indians or the coureurs de Bois? If so, how?

(Its for a research project for my mom)

It certainly helped the Indians in that competition tended to raise the price of furs, i.e. traders offered more trade goods to encourage the Indians to trade with them and not with rivals. To the extent that competition required more aggresive efforts by the merchants going in to the interior of the continent then it may have benefitted the coureurs de bois in terms of more employment.
