Purified water takes LESS time to boil than water with solutes dissolved in it. It is call Boiling point elevation. The water molecules form bonds with the solute that are stronger than the water to water bonds, and therefore it is more difficult for individual molecules to escape (water vapor, or less accurately steam) Although the temperature of the water rises at the same rate, pure water will boil at a lower temperature.
