Mine, in case you were wondering, is this;

Do not forgive those who have made up for their actions, rather, forgive those who are sorry.

I have prayed the prayer that Jesus of Nazareth taught all men. It has been called "The Lord's Prayer" but in reality it is for every man woman and child.
In that prayer we ask God "to forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us".
What that means is: that I am asking God to forgive me the same way I forgave any one who has wronged me.
God will. He will forgive me the way I forgive and if I do not have that in my heart then I will not gain that forgiveness from God.
I have already prayed so many times to be forgiven the way I forgive that I am sure He will.
That is the rule of forgiveness I hold, that is what I have been taught.

Perhaps this.

First, realize that you yourself have done something at least remotely similar once. And you forgive yourself of it.

Second, prepare to break the cycle.
Forgiveness has power when you are ready to try to stop the wrong from reoccurring again. Or at least bring better awareness to a wrong thing done.

forgivness is a stenght , regardless of a person has done to you , my belief is that i am a stronger person just for the fact that i can forgive that doesnt mean i will associate with that person again but if i can be comfortable with my feeling towards that person then if by chance you bump into that person then they will be the that is uncomfortable

If I hang on to anger I am the one having ugly feelings. Not the guy that I am feeling anger toward. Forgiveness is for me. Not him.

As a wise friend once told me-

"I can forgive and I can forget- but I'll be damned if I will forget what I forgave".

Forgive, but never forget. If you don't forgive, it will eat away at you & make you miserable while not affecting them at all. If you forget, they might do it to you again.

I don't forgive. I will hold a grudge about something until I forget about it completely or until I die.
