OK, I had a guy that was supposed to come to my home and do some work for me. He flaked three days in a row. I tried to find someone else and he caught wind of it. Called me a psycho....
So, I'm I a nut for finding a replacement for a flake?

Don't return any calls or responses, he had 72 hours to do what he had to do, if anyone has mental problems its him.
Tell him to take a hike. You were well within your rights to get someone else. Good for you.

No, not at all, you did the right thing. Just be honest with him and let him know why you called someone else. If he made it clear that he was going to be there on the date 3 days ago then he is running a bad business. Him getting mad is only natural but in the long run this will actually help him out.

No, the same thing happened to me. I have been on a lookout for a handyman for sometime. Someone to do some work in my house. People would get started and never finish the job. If you want the work done, find someone reliable. Nothing flaky about that.
