It's for a party and I don't want to overdo it, but any suggestions (even for overdoing it) would be very helpful.

wear round glasses like harry potter, and since you're going to try to look like a geek, you could wear a white button-down shirt tucked into your pants and have a calculator in the front pocket, and stick a pencil behind your ear. or else you could draw on a plain white t-shirt and write the name of the fake math competition (
"valley district math competition "for example, im just trying to think of stuff) and if your a girl you could wear high pigtails or a really far to the side geeky ponytail like the girl in napolean dynamite.
hope this helped, it will be really funny when you dress up :-)
