I had this problem once, i took brown paper bags and placed it ontop of the spilled wax, i then heated my iron on low, being sure not to let iron touch the carpet, I heated the wax by placing the iron on top of the paper bag and it melted and absorbed onto the paper bag, you will need to keep moving the paper bag to clean area to keep absorbing the wax residue, you can also use paper towels, but the paper bags worked better for me. I didnt have any problems with residual color left after the wax was removed, Good luck to you.

I think that you are supposed to get an iron and iron it with wax paper. I havent tried this but this is what I heard.

Try placing a clean paper towel on it and using a hot iron to iron it out. Keep replaceing the paper towel untill you get it up. This worked on the clothes that was put in the dryer with a crayon in them.....................
