okay, so when we balance equations say i have like Fe +3 and NO3 - added to Na+ PO4 3-, do i just balance it like that, or do i do criss cross to determine subscripts?

help would be highly appreciated. :)

just go to this website and plug in your formula, and hit the balance button.

Remember positive ions first.

Fe +3 will combine with Phosphate-3. Note that they have the same number except for the sign so even crisscrossing it gives you 3 and 3 which is reduced to 1and 1. Because it is one, DO not write the subscripts 1.

Or Fe(PO4)

The Na +1 and N03 -1 will be like the one above criss cross 1 and 1 so just NaN03.

First you'd have to use the criss cross method to find the formula for each compound. Then you would find the product of the resultants. THEN you would balance it to make sure that you have the same number of each element on either side of the arrow.
