Absolutely. People who are saying no should watch a documentary on him and his sons. If they think the US occupation isn't good, they should talk to some Kurds. If their is any left.

since he was a bloodthirsty dictator, yes.
why don't you ask the Kurds? they're enjoying their lives like they haven't in YEARS. they don't have to look behind them every second to see if Saddam's men are coming to gas them.
i've actually seen video of the Kurds thanking the American military and George Bush. even if some of OUR countrymen hate him, the Kurds like him.

This should be asked of the Iraqies who have lost their homes and many of their loved ones today. Ask all the professionals who have fleed Iraq as well, see what they tell you.

This may be an unpopular answer, but I think not. We have been unable to replace him with someone who can control the country, and while he killed, with our help, maybe 400,000 people, we have been responsible for the deaths of many more than that IN Iraq. by some responsible counts, 600,000 since the war started, and many more before that from health/sanitization problems.

In retrospect I'm not sure... it seems we had him contained and we now know that he didn't have the weapons capability that we feared. He was a tyrant and a beast, but there are many of those in today's world.

I dont know. Saddam was a really big asshole, but he didnt really do anything to us.
