I can't stand it because it basically says using that kind of lingo is ok. It sends America further down a tube to a cultural cesspool. In 20 years we are all going to be speaking like idiots if this keeps up. In addition, why would I want someone preparing my taxes that says "You Got People?"

I think it's even worse than you suggest. Not simply relegated to poor English, I'll be even more critical and say they are racially profiling for profits.

H&R Block caters primarily to folks without accountants who generally wait until pretty close to the deadline to file their tax returns. You see them setting up shop in temporary retail space all over, but I notice they blanket African American neighborhoods like they they are going out of style.

This year they are even offering cash advances on expected refund money.

Some Madison Avenue advertising exec probably brainstormed and ultimately advised them to "go as black as possible, and this is how you can do it."

I think it is an insult to our collective intelligence and while not overtly racist (I don't like using the term lightly), it's walking the line.

I understand that businesses must focus on their core clientele and do their best to cultivate their primary demographic, but in this case it's seems just short of throwing in vouchers for Fried Chicken, Greens and Watermelon.

I think you are on target with your assessment and I would avoid them as well. Doesn't inspire much confidence, does it?
