Actually the most influencial persons in history would be:
THE PERSON OR PERSONS WHO INVENTED FIRE:
Fire started us on the road to development and ensured our survival and mastery over the animals. Without fire we would not have had our complete mastery of the planet.

THE PERSON OR PERSONS WHO INVENTED THE WHEEL:
It was the wheel which put us on the path to advanced civilization and gave the old world the great advantage in actual and future technology over the new. The wheel enabled us to transport a hundred times more than we could without it. It made possible the great civilizations of antiquity. Without it we would never have advance beyond the AZTEC and INCA Empires.

THE PERSON OR PERSONS WHO FIRST STARTED METAL :
Without metal we would have been able to develope as nearly as much as we did. We were able to do things and develope things far beyond the wildest dreams of anyone at the time.

ALEXANDER THE GREAT:
He brought east and west together. Opened up the world to both. He brought the liberality of Greek civilization to the rest of the world and the knowledge of the rest of the world to the Greeks. Who developed the basis for our own civilization. He put the world from a whole lot of semi isolated empires to a world where commerce and communication was almost the width of the Eurasian continent-where most of the civilizations were. He opened up the idea of a world ECUMINICUS-whereby all humans could cooperated and work together. An idea which has caught on and inspired humanity for milenium. He taught the world to know itself. There is a saying " East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet" But if Alexander the Great had lived long enough, this line would never have been written.

NEIL ARMSTRONG:
As we human go by inspiration and ideas, this is the big one. Neil Armstrong was part of a giant enterprize. But it was he who actually was the first person from Earth to set foot upon another world. And most people saw him do it. Thus he provided the inspiration and idea the likes that had never been before. Whilst
Alexander brang the idea and inspiration that the world could be one, Neil Armstrong brought forth by those immortal words:
"One small step for a man, one giant step for mankind", the vision, the idea, the inspiration and the fact that a new and complete age had began. The age of space travel. All throughout
history Earth looked upon itself. Now for the first time it looked beyond itself. The beginning and fact of an idea that from now on it was possible and desirable that we go actually OFF THE PLANET ITSELF. In a million years they will divide history into two basic periods. Before July 1969 and after July 1969. Before Armstrong and after Armstrong.

Of course there are many that people will say. But no one has started our course as much and as crucial as the first three. Alexander set us on the path to know ourselves. Armstrong set us on the path to the stars. When you look at history from a million, a billion years into the future then you have to look at two things from your question's point of view. One, what figure or figures would have done such as to be universally remembered and two, what was the most actual crucial and far reaching things. That which got us to where we are most of all. In a billion years time we will ask ourselves how we started, when did we begin to think worldwide and when we finally and actually left the planet itself to get to where we are in the year 1,000,000 or 1,000,000,000 A.D. If someone from the deep dark past came we would ask them but one question. Were you with the invention of fire, with the invention of the wheel, with the discovery of metal? Were you with Alexander, were you there when the eagle had landed?
