My husband may have cancer and need chemotherapy and has been advised to bank his sperm. What procedure would I need to become pregnant later? Does insurance cover this? What are the costs, risks etc. etc. Just don't know anything and would like the basic information.

To get pg later the sperm would be deposited into your uterus. This is called IUI or IntraUterine Insemination. Mine was about 300 each cycle and each cycle has about a 15-20% chance of success. Insurance rarely covers it. You do ovulation tests each day and when you get a pos. you go in the next day and they usually ultrasound you to make sure you are ovulating. They thread a catheter through your cervix and put the semen into your uterus. It's not really painful.
