I use Affordable Mineral Makeup. I have tried a few others, but they either contains small amounts of preservatives or are made up with a lot of fillers. It does not look cakey and it covers and evens out problem skin very well.
It brings out your natural beauty while minimizing any flaws or wrinkles. It is multi-purpose and very versatile. Affordable Mineral Makeup is micro-formulated using the highest quality minerals and botanicals; being naturally preservative and irritant-free it is also weightless and incredibly long-wearing. It does not clog pores and it has a naturally high SPF. It helps to calm and soothe irritated skin with its zinc content, and is water resistant. Providing excellent coverage.

Laura Mercier is known for the "Flawless Face". Her products are geared toward creating the base of your look. The tinted moisturizer is fantastic; it's all you need for the daytime. If you're going for a night look, try the Oil-free foundation and primer ( I also like Smashbox's Photofinish primer). I would advise you to stay away from the Laura Mercier concealer, however, as I found it to be cakey and dry. I like Estee Lauder's Doublewear concealer. It is creamy, but not oily and does a great job covering up spots (I tend to scar from acne). You can also check out Armani's foundation line, it's quite expensive. It is sheer, but still provides good coverage. These brands are usually at finer department stores (Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Saks, Neiman Marcus, also find them online).
For an inexpensive foundation you can find at any drugstore, try Neutrogena (they actually have acne fighting ingredients in their products).

For around $26 or so dollars a bottle Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation is great for covering red patches, evening skin color and creating a flawless face that actualy stays ALL day.
it comes in heaps of shades and can be bought at most drugstores and wal-mart/k-mart etc.
If you prefer something more upmarket
i'd reccommend either a clinique or lancome liquid foundation.
the beauty assistants can help you choose a perfect shade.
these can be bought at department stores and drug stores.
If you want something really light and smooth try Lancome mousse foundation
it makes your skin feel great and is light yet good enough to make ur skin look flawless.
Also any good makeup consulant will tell you that you need 2 shades of foundation. One for summer, one slightly lighter for winter.
as it starts getting into summer you mix a bit of your summer foundation with ur winter one as you start getting more tanned.
this also applies when going from summer to winter.

Try Mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation. It's a very blendable oil-free pressed powder foundation that allows you to "build" your coverage from sheer to full to hide imperfections. (Includes sponge applicator). It's available in 8 shades.

MAC Studio Fix is definitely a great foundation. It covers minor red areas (or acne) and feels great on the skin. I would recommend you go to a MAC store (or Nordstrom / Macys) and get a MAC artist to match your skin tone perfectly and I would try using a concealer with it. Good Luck!

bare minerals!! its so totally perfect! it like evens out ur skin tones and covers up acne/redness and its not like cakey or powdery looking(unless you apply too much) ok so you can find it at like sephora, ulta, n like any other make up store, or online, but its best to go to the store to see/test out the color that would look best on you.
hope this helped.

Prescriptives is great, they can match your skin color and if you don't like cakey don't wear powder.
