Does anyone else here feel The Monkees' "Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones Ltd" is criminally underrated?

This album is, in a word, amazing. If it weren't for the tarnished reputation of The Monkees, "Pisces" would be regarded as one of the greatest pop/rock albums of all time. Think about the tracks: "The Door Into Summer", "Daily Nightly", "Pleasant Valley Sunday", "Words", "Love Is Only Sleeping", "What Am I Doing Hangin' Round?", "Star Collector, "She Hangs Out", "Cuddly Toy". All brilliant pop songs, yet they run the gament masterfully from country-rock to vaudeville to mild psychedelia. If you haven't heard it and consider yourself a serious music lover, do yourself a favor and pick up this album.

I totally agree with you. This was the best album the Monkees ever did. You name every song that is fantastic. Because of their comedy show people did not take their music seriously, but the group did and it shows in this album. I happen to have this CD and frequently play it. I agree with you in people should listen to this particular album by the Monkees. it's impossible to listen to a "Pleasant Valley Sunday" and not be impressed.

PAC&J is one of my very favorite albums, maybe even better than "Headquarters". The discrimination toward the Monkees unfortunately continues to this day, and people don't seem to be able to listen to them with an unbiased ear. My husband falls into that group also, although he'll hear one of Nez's songs from this album, and think it sounds great...
