Or do you just keep using the old item because you've become so comfortable with it? i.e...Pillows, blankets, recliners, clothes.

Since I'm such a shopaholic , I"m always finding great bargains! When I buy something new, I try to let go of something old. If it's still in good condition , I give it away and drop it off in the clothing bins slotted for charitable organization. If it's really funky looking, I dump it in the garbage. This way I don't have to feel guilty about my new purchases , nor will it clutter up my limited wardrobe space!

Yes, when something like a pillow, blanket, or clothes is concerned, I will go out and buy some new ones/things. Furniture is a little more costly as you know, and it usually lasts a good long while here in our household, so that's one thing we don't go out and buy all new when it gets a lil broken down.

Well pillows yes I do throw them out, some clothing, some blankets but it depends on the item and how much it cost.

I suppose it depends. If it was my favorite blanket that I had since I was little, I wouldn't because of the sentimental value. But, if it was just a shirt then yes, I would replace it.

Keep the old item, cause it has a meaningful value. Not that I don't buy something new eventually as well.

No...I'm constantly buying new things to replace the worn out things.

Some things are really hard to part with, so they sometimes are kept just as a backup, if they are serviceable. Like a keyboard, or mouse, or favorite easy chair.

It really depends on what it is...but as a rule, I replace things before they wear out.
