Probably because it's a "period" of time. I only hear period being referred to as the bleeding, not the whole cycle.

For me this is many times the day until eventually now and commencing day or could be nearing the top 2 days. As for the undesirable temper days, I by no skill look to have them, i might get somewhat moody with people or warm and stricken via inconvenience of being on my era, yet otherwise there does not rather look a moody time. besides, each and every ones physique is distinctive so i won't be able to talk for others yet will say that once us women individuals are in a relationship with considered one of you adult adult males...it could be rather advantageous in case you ought to hold off the soccer for an hour or so and can fairly make an effort to sit down down and consult with us approximately it!

The word "period" means a marked or repeated cycle, a regular interval. The "periodic" table of the elements has the elements organized according to repeating patterns. In astronomy, the time for a planet to return to the same position relative to the Sun and Earth is called its "synodic period" - a repeating pattern, a regular cycle. So the part of a woman's regularly repeating cycle when she is shedding uterine lining and blood is called a "period" because it happens "periodically" or at regular intervals.
