I'm a critcal care nurse. This is my definition based on what I've seen. True love is being at your very sick wive's/husband's bedside for days and days and days. And changing her/his colostomy bag for the nurse -- all the while knowing that this is a horrible task and it pleases the nurse not to have to do it. They see how much you love that person, are willing to sacrifice and will do extra to take care of her/him. They -- and everyone else -- will feel how precious that person is to you and will follow your lead. If you are willing to change your loved one's colostomy at the sickest time in their life, then it must be True Love.
