A TRUE best friend is the kind of person who you can trust completely, and can call at any time of the day (even 3am) for anything- even just a chat. They are the type of person who loves and respects you unconditionally and will stick with you through the best and worst times. Also, a true best freind is the type of person with whom you can be completely honest, and who will be completely honest with you. And remember, the most important thing about a true best friend, is that while sometimes the advice they give may not be the easiest to accept, they are just being honest, and have your best interests at heart. A best friend is the type of person who isn't afraid to tell you when you're wrong, and help you make things right.

When you are single, she doesn't brag about being engaged and having a family. When you lose your job, she doesn't brag that she just inherited all kindsa $$$ because someone died and forces you to look at the house she wants to buy and the car she is buying when there is a possibility that you are going to be homeless and your car is going to be repossessed. When you finally get that job interview after a month of searching, she doesn't cry and beg for you to go to the hospital with her because she is a hypochondriac, who thinks she is dying making you miss your interview. Then later it turns out that there was NOTHING wrong with her.

i think a true BFF would:
1. stay by your side at all times
2. respect your opinions and beliefs (as religious choices or sticky situations like not wanting to smoke)
3. defend you and stand up for what he/she thinks is right, no matter how dorky or geeky that may sound, or what kind of reputation they would build because of it. if they are your real BFF, they would want to be with you no matter what.
4. generosity! giving gifts or maybe buying you things? im not being selfish but my true BFFS do that! some may not though.
5. they would do absolutely anything to continue a friendship, if he/she likes being around you, then they will show it!
thats all i can think of :P

someone who wouldnt mind having you over their house, even for the night if needed.

someone who will feed you when you go to their house and make sure you are comfortable.

someone who dont have much but is always willing to share a piece of that 'not much' with you.

someone who supports you in what you do.

someone who understands even when you say or do something wrong to hurt them.

someone who does not hold you back from your dreams. always there to support you no matter even if you are not frens anymore.

This is a fun one that I've seen.

A friend will come and bail you out of jail. A true friend will be sitting there with you saying, Wow, didn't we have a great time?!

Someone who you can tell every thoughts, every feelings and emotions to and don't worry about being judged or she/he will be repeating them to anyone...You trust her/him more then you trust yourself and have no questions that if she/he really loves you...
That's how I would describe a true friend...
