Exactly what kind of sausage are we supposed to eat on Ground Hog Day?

Jimbo... As one who attended Amity Elmemtry in Boise Idaho back in the 70's when it was built, and having my child hood mascott be a groundhog. I take a stand to this kind of question.

I was thinking a nice Basque chorizzo cooked up in an iron skillet with olive oil...

Since when do people eat sausage on Ground Hog Day? Never heard of that tradition before. However, if I must choose, then give me sweet Italian sausage.
