Not really.
The broken economy, the social timebomb, stealth taxes and oppression is labours legacy.
The Blairs and Browns are tyrants drunk on power. They have no particular policy or vision.
I suppose the conservatives will have to spend the next 10 years cleaning up labours mess again.Having said that ,the conservatives now dont offer any real alternatives.
So if we want our freedom of speech back then it looks like the BNP.

Until the next general election, we are stuck with the government we chose. The likelihood of unseating New Labour is very slim since opposition to it is very weak, in spite of press coverage of recent events and especially those concerning the reformation of the Home Office.
The Home Office is a vast enterprise and will take several years to sort out. In the meantime all kinds of problems will arise and have to be dealt with by government.
Do you really want 'joined up government'? Do you really want department A to know your business and be able to pass it on to department B, C and D, etc.? Because that is the most likely outcome of the present government exercise. More control of you the people.

I seriously doubt the tories would do any better. It is the political system and a dishonest media that is the cause of our political problems. Democracy is a crap system. The idiot and the genius have the same political power and there are always more idiots than geniuses, so policy bends towards the stupid. The media today REALLY reinforce this perverse bend.
We need a MERITOCRACY where the brightest and most moral volunteer to represent us in a House of Intellects and a House of Ethics.
The public would vote every five years as to whether we kept this system, thus maintaining exactly the same level of voting power as we have now, but removing the self-destructive nonsense that is party politics.

I doubt it, would the Conservatives do a better job, probably, they left the economy in a good state, lowest unemployment for years, and low interest rates, Labour won because we lost millions, due to speculators, and had to leave the European Exchange mechanism, John Major, was the scape goat!
What this country needs is another Margaret Thatcher!!!!

No! It's slowly all starting to wrong now. Most ministers have been promoted above their own ability. The first two to three years they appeared to be OK, but now they are like a dog going round in circles chasing it's tail desperately trying to think of something new. They announce something only to change their minds a few weeks later. They haven't got a clue (bit like me really, but at least I admit it).
The sad thing is look at the choice we have in the other parties!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I despair!!!!!!!!!!

What is the alternative, if you vote for conservatives, you will get Mr.Blair in Blue in stead of red and if you vote liberals, you get someone who should have been retired years ago. Charles Kennedy was the best hope liberals had for the next election and by him gone, they have lost their chance of winning the next election and I will not be surprised if they lose most of their seats.

I doubt it... but then again I can't think of anyone who is. As soon as they get anywhere near the top they start getting a bit greedy.
