Many people have said the world is going to end in 2012. Something about the Mayans? But anyways..everyone said the world was going to end on 6/06/2006 also. Do you think all of these people are full of it? Your opinion?

What you are referring to is the ending of the mayan calender,which is 12/21/2012. Supposedly the Mayans were some of the best astronomers ever and they charted the sky, and made predictions about the future from this. Some say that these predictions have came true through the years and once this date hits then something like an armaggedon starts. I don't have enough knowledge about the subject to much faith into it but their calender was more accurate than the calender that we use today in the U.S. and that is a fact.

The world seems to be full of doomsayers these days. The end of times and such.
The world is going to end, believe it. When is it going to end? I would imagine on a day between Jan 1 and Dec 31 sometime between now and whenever.

As long as there are scientifically ingnorant people out there that are so easily persuaded, there will be many ridiculous predictions. They are indeed full of it. The only definate that I believe in is the Sun burning out, which is oin another 5 million years. So until NASA starts posting on the web for ideas on how to effectively divert an incoming asteroid, enjoy your life without worry.

They also thought it was going to end in 2000.... and in 1900... and pretty much every century. People are obsessed with associating meaning to centuries and millenia, as well as palindromes. And somebody always has some new theory about when Christ is coming back or what ancient civilization predicted the apocalypse on their ancient calender.
My opinion is that people need to stop worrying about when the world is going to end. If it does, there's not going to be much we can do about it. What's the point in worrying about it?

They are full of it. Just because the date says 666 doesn't mean its going to be the end, there have been many 666's. Just because the mayans chose to end their calender on that date doesn't mean its the end.

they said the world was gonna end in the year 2000 aswell, then when it didnt they moved the date to 2001, then to 2003. i think theyll just keep moving the date untill... well the world actually does end

The world actually ended on July 15th, 1978. But your perception just hasn't caught up with time yet.
