You need to reboot your hole system with a windows xp cd with a valid key code because you sound like you have a virus and that is the only way to get rid of it make sure you format the partition when asked and then create a new one then go from there. The only bad thing is by doing this you will delete any old information you may have had. I believe you can recover it but I don't know how.

The best answer is to boot into SAFE MODE and possibly do a System Restore. I've never tried to install a Service Pack from Safe Mode, but I don't see why you can't. Safe Mode will keep a lot of hardware drivers and other riffraff from starting. I suspect you have a corrupted system file or a corrupted hardware driver.

this usually means that the file system is damaged.what i do when this happens to me is unplug the cd rom on my other computer, and plug in the bad hard drive just the way the cd rom was plugged in.and when i turn on the computer the good hard drive will usuall repair the file system on the bad drive.if this is too technical for you then you will need the XP Disc.good luck.the repaired drive will only boot on your computer, not on the computer from which it was repaired.
