Ditto on the JFK / 6th Floor Museum. Then check out the "West End" just a few blocks from the museum. Unique street with plenty of restaurants and bars - close to the American Airline Center where the Mavericks and Stars play. If your have a car, park right at the museum lot, and you can do both without moving car.
You can visit Southfork Ranch northeast of Dallas (basically the house where the TV show "Dallas" was filmed.
Take a tour of Cowboys Stadium in Irving - it won't be there in a few years. I think they run a tour every hour.
There is also Dallas Zoo, IMAX at Fair Park - but you can do that kind of thing in any city.
Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine (basically the Opryland Hotel in Nashville) - kinda neat place if you haven't seen it. (I'll be there for a consumer travel show on the 10th/11th.)
Good Luck - Have Fun.

The Ft. Worth Zoo is nice, and the Ft. Worth Botanical gardens are very near.

If you are a rock fan Stevi Ray Vaughn is burried near Oak Cliff at Laurel Land.

If you area science fan, there is an amazing exibit at the science place in fair park. it is called Body Works.

If you want to bar scene, head out to Addison ...try Dukes or Carsons. Goodluck!

I'd 'second' the JFK museum, grassy knoll, Dealey Plaza--all part of history.
