Because the family is not longer as important as it used to be!!! If people would be home more for each other then we could have more dinners at the table... Okay Okay I have to ask you about the let get this party started... why is that your nick??? Are you a Christian and did you pick this as it is a Toby Mac song... My kids Love Toby Mac and that song!!!! We have gotten away from what God has really wanted the family to be... Very sad but true! Great question by the way!

No one values family time anymore. The family has become last priority next to careers. It's sad, really. As long as you stick with your Christian values, you will have dinner at the table! I know my future kids and husband will eat at the table. It's good bonding time with your family and to bless God for today's day and being together. I don't buy that we live in a fast paced environment or technology excuses. If you want to sit down at the table, you will do it. No more excuses!

I know it is terrible that the family values of a simple sitting down together at the table for a meal, has gone by the wayside. In this day and age, where there are meetings, and running the kids to extra carricular activities. It's basically eat and run. However, if one truly would like to bring this very good tradition back again, one can make it happen.

nicely my infant is 17 going to be 18 quickly and we actually do no longer sit down on the kitchen table and consume anymore yet whilst each and every of the youngsters have been youthful whether the oldest grew to become right into a youngster all of us had supper on the comparable time together and maximum mornings each and every physique had a bowl of cereal together and the oldest could drop the others off and if she grew to become into busy i could. i've got faith that a table is for family contributors and confident babies could see the family contributors speaking and getting alongside.I continually had 3 nites each and every week the place my babies could could set the table I did it the the remainder of the time yet you would be surprised at how each and every physique many times pitched in and set the table.

I grew up with my mom having dinner ready every single night at 5 to 5:30 and we all sat at the table together. I really enjoyed that and didn't realize it until I got older. Now at my house no one wants to sit at the table with me. They either want to watch tv or something else. I feel that since I am not lucky enough to be able to stay at home that when its time to eat that it is my only time to share with everyone what our day was like etc. We all need to think back on how special that use to be and bring it back into the home. You didn't say how you felt about it though.

I think it has a lot to do with the way you were raised and what your family values are.I am 34 & my husband is 42 and we have 3 children and we sit down and have dinner together every-night.My husband and I were both raised with good family values and we are raising our children the same way.My family is very important to me and when your family is important to you then you make the time to be a family..I think if more people lived by the old school this world would be a much nicer place..People today take their families for granted and that is just plain sad.

Because both wives and husbands have to work now to be able to afford to live. By the time they get home both of them are to tired to cook a meal so they go for the fast food. Or if the wife doesn't work then the husband is probably working two jobs to put the food on the table that he is not home to sit at. Then there are the single mothers and fathers who are also working late or two jobs just to pay for the babysitter. Are lives are too fast paced to sit and talk at a table, this is how we communicate now via internet and cell phones. Times have changed, and time has changed us.

Times have changed. Who's going to cook?? Mom is now working until 6pm just like Dad and when they get home they are both exhausted. it's take out food and winding down on the couch. Also teenagers now days want to do anything but spend time with there parents. We have to change with the times but we do not have to give up the things that are important to us. My husband and I have found a way to spend time with our teenagers while still maintaining our sanity after a long day at work. I cook on Wed, Fri, and Sun nights, that way I only cook 1 night during the work week and the other 2 on the weekend because I do more of the house work. He cooks on Tues, Thurs, and Sat nights and we eat out on Mon. When we are eating at home we all sit on the couches and talk while we eat. We hear about the kids days and how they are doing at school, and they feel more comfortable. Like I said, times change but we can still have all of the things that are important.

It is difficult to sit down every night of the week but we sit down for a family meal at least four nights out of the week. Friday is family night. We play board games or watche a movie. We make it a point to spend time together as much as possible. Sometimes it is difficult due to schedules. Sometimes families would like to do this but can't seem to get organized.

It's a shame, isn't it? Everyone is so preoccupied with themselves these days that we forget what it is to be a family. My question is - how do we start a movement to bring the family dinner back??
