Believe in your self! Tell your self that you can do it.
Grab the bull by the horns and get out there and do it.
Don't worry about your audience, they aren't going to bite you. Do a lot of reading aloud at home with no one around or to family (after all family is not going to judge you etc.)

Hi there,

Firstly, get some practise - go join Toastmasters International or something as that's a great way to overcome your fear of speaking in an environment that is supportive. Plus you'll become a much better speaker there.

Secondly, mentally rehearse the talks. I bet when you think about talking in front of people you see in your mind you being nervous and people not enjoying it.

Change it.

Visualise yourself doing an outstanding presentation and the audience loving it. Do this every single day as a day dream ... and you know what ... sooner rather than later you'll deliver the best talk of your lifetime!

This is the process of mentally conditioning yourself to success rather than what you are currently doing with your visualisation.

I can also recommend a tool such as the instant confidence booster at http://www.fullofconfidence.com/instant_confidence.php which will help you to instantly become more confident in any situation - ideal for public speaking - I use it all the time :)

Wishing you all the best

Jason

Everyone feels some nervousness before speaking in front of others. Public speaking is more feared than death! I try to forget that I'm speakig in front of others, and just imagine that I'm speaking to a trusted friend. i take a deep breath before I begin, and then I just force myself to start. Once you've begun, it's so much easier to continue. If you feel really confident about what you'll say, you'll also be more confident when you say it. And the more you confront your fears, the less scary they are.
Good luck! Confident speakers are a rarity today; I hope you can get over any nervousness you may feel.

You are feeling faint because you're forgetting to breathe properly- try breathing deeply and slowly while you stand up to talk or make the presentation so you will stay calm. Keep in your mind that those are just other people and not something to fear. Keep breathing deeply while you are talking-that will help.
