That depends on how many divisions your particular ruler has. They're not all alike!

But you can still find an eighth mark. What you do is find the half mark (that's easy), go to the next biggest line (the quarter mark) and go to the next biggest line, i.e., half of a quarter, otherwise known as an eighth!

If there a 16 lines from 0 to 1 then it is 2. If there are 8 lines then it is 1.

It depends on your ruler. It may be divided into 1/8s or 1/16ths, etc.

They way you can figure it out is that 1/8 means exactly that it would take eight of them to make up one inch.

So, look at your ruler and find the halfway mark between inches. That is the 1/2 inch mark. Then take the halfway point between the half inch and the inch mark. That is 1/4 inch. Now the halfway mark between the 1/4 inch and those are the 1/8 inch lines.

Hope that simplifies it for you!

Depends on the ruler, 2 or 4 marks. Count all the little lines in an inch and divide by 8

On most normal rulers 1/8 of an inch is two hashmarks. Be careful though because plenty of rulers divide the first inch or two into 1/32 rather than 1/16 inch hashmarks. Be sure to check for consistent marking.

Typically each dash is 1/16", so two would be 1/8". Check the scale... some rulers have different scales, which might make each line 1/32", 1/64", or even 1/10"
