I'm close to my right splits and i need to do it by April. Help! What are some streches i can do so i can get them soon? Thanks guys...

this stretch really helped me to get my splits in like 3 weeks!.
first if u are doing your right leg splits tuck your right knee under your body and face the way u wold if u were goin down in your splits. bring your left leg out like u r doing the splits but keep you right leg tucked in forward under your body. now go as far down as you can until it hurts when it starts too hurt hold it there for about a minute. do this bout 3 times on each leg every nite and it will help so0o0o much!
P.S~ i kno its hard and i kno what ur goin thru cause i had to get my right and left leg splits for dance team tryouts last year in about 3 weeks but once u get your splits it fells so0o0o good to accually have them and it makes a much more confident dancer!!!!GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I remember teaching myself to do the splits, I'm about an inch away from doing the Chinese/middle splits. When I was 15, it was Halloween (doesn't matter :) and i literally stretched my legs for about 4 hours and I got both left and right splits down in one night. The trick is that unless you're naturally flexible you need to keep your muscles pliable and stretch every day. Yoga is EXCELLENT to help you get to the splits too. Try the classic stretch of sitting with your legs out in a V. Lean from side to side; once with your torso in line with your leg and once with your torso flat against it. Also lean as far as you can down in front of you to help stretch the inner upper thigh muscles. And most importantly, hold each stretch for 15-30 seconds and breath deep trying to go a little farther with each breath. And don't bounce when you stretch, it makes things worse. this is what my teacher makes us do.

even if you're not all the way down in the splits, find a way to hold it without touching the ground. reach your hands forward and dont force your self against the splits. dont touch your legs, just lay forward on your front leg.

then sit up straight in the splits, put your hands on your hips, and arch back but still dont touch the ground. arching back will help you get your back hip down more.

then lay in the middle with your stomach on the ground and your arms reaching forward, once again dont fight against the splits.

breathing in through your nose, and out through your mouth will really help ease the pain in your muscles. not breathing tenses your muscles and makes them ache even more.

and for a even better stretch, try the parallel splits with the same directions as above.

if you don't know what the parallel splits are, they are the same as the regular splits, but flex your feet, and make sure you stay square.

I used to dance, and they would have us sit on our left splits and right splits minutes at a time for ten minutes. (So I guess about 5 minutes for each leg)* But they made sure that we adjusted ourselves every now and then, because they didn't want us to strain anything.
I was eventually able to do both sides about two months later...

what kind splites do want to do either one just keep doing it and keep streching you legs out one by one one side other side it reallly works
