A cell's organelles are much like a human's organs. Each has a specific function. Cytoskeleton is like a human skeleton. Phospholipid bilayer is like your skin, or like the earth's crust. Cytoplasm is like your blood, or like the molten earth core. The nucleus is like your brain, or earth's computer network. Golgi bodies are like your digestive system (this one is a bit of a stretch) or like transport highways. Endoplasmic reticulum and ribosomes are like your bone marrow, assembling proteins in the case of the rough er, or making blood cells in the case of your body.

Those are some simple analogies.

Molecules all work together to make a cell. Cells work together to make a tissue, tissues make organs, organs make your body.

The planet earth contains elements that all work together to make up the earth.
